Brown Ideye Leaves NPFL Giants Enyimba After The 2024-25 Season

Brown Ideye, the former Super Eagles striker has bid an emotional farewell to Enyimba following the conclusion of the 2024–25 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season.  At 36, Ideye returned to the NPFL in December 2024 after a 17-year absence, rejoining the league with Enyimba FC.

In his farewell message shared on social media, Ideye expressed deep gratitude to Enyimba’s management, teammates, staff, and fans for the opportunity to represent one of Nigeria's most prestigious football clubs.  He acknowledged the special bond he developed with the club and the support he received from day one.

During his brief stint, Ideye made a significant impact, scoring his first goal for Enyimba in a 4–1 victory over Black Bulls Maputo in the CAF Confederation Cup  . However, he also voiced concerns about the state of the NPFL, highlighting issues such as inadequate infrastructure and poor welfare, which he believes hinder Nigerian clubs' competitiveness on the continental stage.

Ideye's departure marks the end of a brief but memorable chapter in his illustrious career, leaving behind a legacy of professionalism and commitment to Nigerian football.
