Nigeria’s female basketball team, D’Tigress, on Saturday, defeated Senegal to win the 2023 FIBA Women’s Afrobasket Championship for the fourth consecutive time at the BK Arena in Kigali, Rwanda.
D'tigress have now defeated Senegal in the fourth finals they have met.
The West African side are now the 2nd African team to win 4 consecutive titles (2017, 2019, 2021, 2023) after Senegal.
The team defeated the 11-time African champions 84-74 to claim their sixth championship.
However, Nigeria complete the 4-PEAT at the FIBA Women’s AfroBasket to win their sixth continental title after defeating arch-rivals Senegal 84-74 in Kigali.
D’Tigress have been smooth and precise in their pursuit of this trophy.
