Raul Jimenez Urged By Club Legend Not To Consider Leaving This Summer

Mexico international and Wolverhampton Wonderers striker Raul Jimenez continues to spark many transfer talks after a productive 2019-2020 campaign, but has been asked to stay put with Wolves.

Jimenez has garnered interest from the likes of Manchester United and Juventus, but Wolves legend Steve Bull sees no reason for the Mexican to press for a move.

With 26 goals recorded in the 2019-20 season, the 29-year-old has enjoyed the most productive season of his career so far.

These efforts drew admiring glances from afar, and Jimenez has accepted the speculation it sparked.

He considers links with United and Juventus also with La Liga giants Real Madrid and Barcelona "cool" and has done little to put out the transfer flames.

However, Bull believes Molineux is the best place for Jimenez at this point in his career, since they are on the brinks for an Europa League football and is hopeful that the productive frontman will remain.

Speaking to the Express and Star as cited by Sports Central, the Wolves legend said: “The Mexican striker continues to be the subject of lots of speculation, linking him with sides such as Manchester United and Juventus. “It would take something special for him to leave, but why go when Jimenez has everything at Molineux?  “This is a great set-up, a great club, a great manager, and he does not need to go. “Of course, he wants to win medals, but he can do that at Wolves. Sooner rather than later, too. “At his age, you could look at it as a chance to earn a big move on big money, but I think we can match his ambitions, and finances are not a problem either. “Having been involved with Wolves for 34 years, I can safely say the ambition of the club is huge. And it is not just Premier League football. It is Europe as well. “We have not been in this situation for a long time, and Jimenez has started something, so why not finish it here? “I think Wolves have the fire-power to keep players like that now. They can pull the stops out to keep him.

Wolves tied Jimenez to a four-year deal, so they're not under pressure to sell after the Mexican ace signed his club record of £30million ($39million) in April 2019 after being noticed for the first time in England during a loan period from Benfica.
