How Manchester United Missed Out On The Signing Of Chelsea’s Christian Pulisic Despite Advice From Their Scouts

News according to Sports Central reveals that Manchester United had received a glowing report on Pulisic from a club scout who asked them to sign the forward before he made a mega-money move to Premier League rivals Chelsea.

The Old Trafford side failed to sign Chelsea star after ignoring a recommendation from a respected scout.

The US winger is showing his true potential at Stamford Bridge after a slow start following his £58million transfer last summer.

Pulisic is arguably the Blues' best player since the restart. He has scored four goals in ten games and provided two assists.

But for the 21-year-old it could have been very different if Manchester United had followed the advice of former scout Jorge Alvial.

Speaking to the MEN as cited by Sports Central, Alvial said: "When I first got hired one of the people that I recommended right away was Pulisic because I knew him and his background. "I knew how well he was developing in Dortmund and he was just going to keep coming up, and become a superstar because he was doing very well. "I have always believed in him, we always have kept close contact with his father, and I called him to say I was recommending him to Manchester United. "So it was many times that I did recommend him, but at the same time because I was only doing North America, it wasn’t my region because he was playing in Germany.

Pulisic had illuminated the Bundesliga with impressive performances and attracted Admirable suitors from all over Europe.

And he wasn't the only Superstar United chose to ignore despite Alvial's advice.

He added: "We all had a list and I had him first along with Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies. "I highly, highly recommended for them to sign him, and I know also the German scout was very into him, he really liked him too. "It wasn’t a case of ‘look at this kid’, it was ‘sign this kid’. When I recommend a player usually it is an example of a player that I feel has tremendous potential.
