The FA have released details of the community shield for the 2020/21 season and it’s likely to affect Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea
The football association has confirmed that either Arsenal or Chelsea will meet Premier League champions Liverpool in the FA Community Shield.
The league curtain-raiser kicks off at Wembley and has its date set for Saturday 29 August, two weeks before the start of the 2020/21 Premier League campaign
While the kick-off time and broadcast details will be announced soon, this is a date for the teams log as it represents the start date of next season.
As cited by Sports Central, an FA statement read: "We can now confirm that either Arsenal or Chelsea will return to Wembley for the FA Community Shield supported by McDonald’s next month. "The traditional curtain-raiser of the new season will take place at Wembley Stadium connected by EE on Saturday 29 August, with the Premier League champions taking on one of the two London clubs who are competing in the Heads Up FA Cup Final this weekend. "Kick-off time, broadcast details and more details will be announced in due course."
Arsenal and Chelsea will meet in the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday August 1.
