Antoine Griezmann Blamed After Barcelona’s 2-2 With Celta Vigo

Following yesterday’s draw, Real Madrid are now the overwhelming favorite to win the 2019-20 La Liga title after the Catalans lost points to Celta Vigo on Saturday.

Luis Suarez scored twice for Barça, but the late free kick from Iago Aspas earned Celta a point.

The Barcelona number nine opened the floor in the 20th minute with a superb assist from Lionel Messi before Fyodor Smolov equalized at the start of the second half. Suarez then doubled his record and that of Barcelona in the 67th minute.

However, Aspas had the last word when his free kick found a way to overtake Marc-André ter Stegen. The Barcelona goalkeeper is said not to be responsible for Celta's second goal.

Instead, Antoine Griezmann has been slammed by fans on social media for turning his back at the end of the wall. When Aspas touched the ball with his left foot, Griezmann jumped and turned his back on him. The ball then found a path in the bottom corner of the net.

If Griezmann had been more courageous, Barcelona could have ended the match with an intact one-goal lead.

Real Madrid might seize the opportunity to move two points ahead of their all-time rivals when they take on Espanyol on Sunday.

Speaking after the match as reported by Sports Central, Suarez told reporters: "Our feelings are bad because of what happened today. We lost points, but the league is not over yet. "We hope that Real Madrid will drop points, both of us still have difficult games. "I feel angry and upset about the draw.
