Tyson Frowns At Wilder’s Intention To Axe His Trainer, Mark Breland

It has been revealed that Deontay Wilder is increasingly not getting along with his trainer Mark Breland as he has resorted into sacking him. Recalled how Fury dominated Wilder in their last bout in Las Vegas as he knocked down the Bronze Bomber twice to claim victory in the seventh round.

The 31-year old has advised Wilder to give his trainer a payrise for deciding to accept defeat during their rematch in February. Angered Wilder frowned at Breland’s decision to put a stop to the fight, while reports shortly after his loss claimed that the former WBC heavyweight champion had decided to part ways with his long-time trainer ahead of the third fight later this year.

However, Wilder has previously explained that Breland, who he has worked with since he turned professional in 2008, will remain in his corner ahead of his third fight with Fury. And Fury believes Breland’s decision to throw in the towel has helped Wilder’s career as it stopped him from suffering ‘severe’ damage.

Quizzed if it was the right decision to stop the fight, Fury told Behind the Gloves as quoted by Sports Central: ‘Yeah, to be honest with you, the fighters are there to fight, we’re warriors, we fight on until we die, basically. “That’s why in boxing there has been a few people die because they are too brave for their own good. ‘But it is up to the corner, that’s what you pay them for, to look out for your interests, what you are too in a rage to see at the time. ‘I believe they left him in too long anyway. I believe that something severely bad would have happened to him if he had been left in because he was going down the same kind of road as these fighters who have had brain damage. “He couldn’t protect himself. He didn’t win a round; he didn’t win a second of a round. “He was getting badly injured. There was very bad swelling on the top of his head and on the side of his jaw. ‘I think that Mark Breland, never mind sack him or slag him, I think they need to give him a pay rise. Because without Mark Breland there wouldn’t have been a third fight, he would’ve been retired from boxing.

It’s yet to be learnt who Wilder will hire as his new trainee for his future fights.
