Aaron Ramsey Reportedly Interested In Arsenal Return

Mikel Arteta has seemingly pinpointed the midfield as his main problem area if the transfer rumours are anything to go by, the Gunners linked with a staggering amount of talent in the middle of the park.

As things stand, Arsenal are likely to start the 2021/22 Premier League campaign without Granit Xhaka, Lucas Torreira, Matteo Guendouzi, Dani Ceballos and Martin Odegaard.

That is a huge midfield exodus, with Xhaka thought to be edging ever closer to ending his five year stint in North London in favour of a move to AS Roma, while resident bad-boy Guendouzi could be Benfica-bound after his relationship with manager Mikel Arteta is seemingly damaged beyond repair.

Torreira spent most of last season on loan to Atletico Madrid where he struggled to make any kind of meaningful impact, the Uruguayan reportedly keen on a move to South America though Lazio are rumoured to be monitoring his situation.

However, after two years in Turin, Juventus midfielder Aaron Ramsey is thought to be desperate to return to the club where he made his name.

Ramsey spent more than a decade in North London, notching some of the most important goals in Arsenal's modern history, including two FA Cup final winners.

In 2019, he was allowed to depart on a free under the guidance of then-Gunners boss Unai Emery, but his move to Juventus has not gone as planned.

Much of the Welshman's time in Turin has been littered with injuries, and a report from Italian outlet Calciomercato now states that the Welshman "has in fact decided his desire is to return to Arsenal".

Arsenal are reportedly not willing to pay anything for their former hero, given his age profile and recent injury history.

While Juventus are not interested in losing their midfielder for free, Ramsey is rumoured to be so desperate for the move he will lower his wages.
