Arne Slot will soon take charge of the Reds for the first time in Europe having got the Premier League season off to a very promising start. There's little need for the Dutchman to rock the boat as he looks to win success in his debut term at Anfield.
There is little reason for the former Feyenoord boss to spring a surprise, but there are some names that are conspicuous in their absence. Conor Bradley, Jarell Quansah and Harvey Elliott have not been named on the Red's A-list.
It is nothing to worry about however. Liverpool have already qualified the trio will be included on the club's B-list, which means they do not need to be counted among the restrictions put in place on the A-list.
The initial squad can have no more than 25 players, and eight of those spaces are allocated for 'locally trained players'. Out of the eight, half then must be 'club-trained'.
The B-list meanwhile is unlimited in its size. That is, providing players meet the right criteria. Players can be placed on this list up until 24.00 CET on the day before a match.
UEFA’s regulations state as cited by Sports Central: "A player may be registered on List B if he is born on or after 1 January 2003 and has, since his 15th birthday, been eligible to play for the club concerned for any uninterrupted period of two years, or a total of three consecutive years with a maximum of one loan period to a club from the same association for a period not longer than one year. “Players aged 16 may be registered on List B if they have been registered with the participating club for the previous two years without interruption.”
