Cristiano Ronaldo Beats Messi And Others In Recent Award Collection

Juventus star Cristiano Ronaldo got his latest individual silverware on Tuesday as he pocketed the 2020 Golden Foot award.

The Golden Foot is an annual award given to one of Europe's most outstanding footballers.

The prize, launched for the first time in 2003, is chosen by the public, who choose a future winner from a selection of ten nominees.

A somewhat unusual accolade, in that it can only be bagged once by any single player, previous winners include the likes of Alessandro Del Piero, Ryan Giggs, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Andres Iniesta.

And, as outlined above, last year’s recipient, in the form of Luka Modric, has today been replaced by one of his former Real Madrid teammates as the holder.

The player in question? Cristiano Ronaldo.

As announced on Tuesday, Juventus superstar Ronaldo has been crowned the 18th Golden Foot winner.

The Portuguese secured the lion’s share of the vote, beating out competition from all of Lionel Messi, Robert Lewandowski, Giorgio Chiellini, Neymar, Sergio Ramos, Sergio Aguero, Gerard Pique, Mohamed Salah and Arturo Vidal.

Ronaldo was not the only Bianconeri representative to have secured silverware at the ceremony, as president Andrea Agnelli was also crowned the first-ever winner of the Golden Foot Prestige.
