Leeds United Are Interested In Signing Man United Brandon Williams

Manchester United defender Brandon Williams has emerged as a target for Championship side Leeds United as they bid to make an immediate return to the top-flight.

The 22-year-old missed a large portion of the previous campaign due to injury but then found first team action hard to come by under Erik ten Hag.

Williams, who has made over 50 appearances for the Red Devils after coming through the academy, briefly played under Leeds boss Daniel Farke at Norwich City during the 2020-21 campaign.

And according to the Independent, he is now the subject of interest from the Elland Road club, who would be keen to offer the youngster regular game time.

They report that Ten Hag's side would prefer squad exits to be permanent at this stage of the window as the Dutch coach requires funds to pursue additional targets this summer.

United have already completed big money moves for Mason Mount and Andre Onana and will soon add the £72m purchase of Rasmus Hojlund to that list.

As a result, the sale of Williams - who is behind the likes to Luke Shaw, Tyrell Malacia, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Diogo Dalot in the fullback pecking order - could help fund a move for Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

The Moroccan had a sparkling season both for his club and his country, after playing a key role in helping Morocco make historic progress at the World Cup in Qatar.

He also helped guide Fiorentina to the Europa Conference League final where they lost to West Ham in Prague in June.
