Liverpool Have Reportedly Held Talks With Ryan Gravenberch's Father Over A Move

Liverpool have reportedly held talks with the father of Bayern Munich midfielder Ryan Gravenberch over a possible £25million switch to Anfield this summer.

The Dutchman was one of European football's most sought-after players last summer after breaking into the Ajax first team and eventually moved to the German champions for £21m.

However, the 20-year-old has struggled for game time under both Julian Nagelsmann and Thomas Tuchel and is now assessing his options.

Jurgen Klopp is desperate to overhaul his midfield options this summer and is keen to progress with plans after ending his pursuit of Jude Bellingham earlier this week.

According to The Times, Gravenberch features prominently on Liverpool's list of midfield alternatives and a representative of the club met with his father in Holland this week for initial discussions.

Gravenberch's father is seen as a mentor to the career of his son.

The 20-year-old has made just one start for Bayern in the league this season, with a further 16 appearances coming off the bench.

He was one of the most sought-after talents in Europe when he burst onto the scene at Ajax, and Bayern snapped up his signature last year.

He's also been capped by Holland, but missed out on a place in their World Cup squad last year.

Liverpool are expecting to overhaul their squad this summer, particularly in midfield, and have been linked with the likes of Conor Gallagher and Mason Mount.

The Reds are currently ninth in the Premier League and their hopes of a top four finish are fading by the game, with a huge match against Leeds scheduled for Monday evening.

Bayern, meanwhile, are two points ahead of Borussia Dortmund at the top of the Bundesliga, and recently appointed Tuchel to try and get the club over the line.

They are up against it in the Champions League, however, following their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City on Tuesday.
