Tennis Canada has postponed three Challenger Pro events due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The organization announced Friday that the men's events in Calgary and Drummondville, Que., The National Bank Challenger for men and women, Fredericton Challenger are not on the agenda.
The Calgary event was scheduled for February while Fredericton and Drummondville were scheduled for March.
Challenger events provide opportunities for professionals who cannot participate in tour level events.
Gavin Ziv, vice-president professional events for Tennis Canada, said in a statement as cited by Sports Central: "We are optimistic about hosting more professional events in 2021 and will address this topic in the coming months as we continue to monitor the pandemic situation. "We are exploring a number of scenarios and options available to us to be able to organize tournaments in the coming year all while making sure that the health and safety of the fans, the players, the volunteers and the partners is at the heart of our strategy..
