Leicester Are Reportedly Looking To Sign Dutch Midfielder Donny Van De Beek

Brendan Rodgers is hoping to 'bring in Manchester United's Donny Van de Beek for around £13 million', as the Foxes look to find a replacement for Youri Tielemans.

Van de Beek has struggled to establish himself at Old Trafford since arriving from Ajax in 2020, and has played just 30 Premier League games for United.

The 25-year-old was loaned out to Everton for the second half of last season and impressed initially, but was sidelined for much of his time there with thigh injuries.

Many felt van de Beek would receive more playtime this season under his former Ajax boss Erik ten Hag, but he has played just 19 minutes so far this season and is yet to start a competitive game.

According to reports in Jeunes Footeux, Leicester are looking to secure the Dutch midfielder on an initial loan deal with a £13m option to buy.

They also claim he could act as a replacement for the Foxes' star midfielder Youri Tielemans, who could leave in January and will be out of contract at the end of the season.

Leicester picked up their first league win on Monday night with an impressive 4-0 victory over Nottingham Forest.

It came after a torrid spell that saw them pick up just one point in their opening seven games, and fans will be hoping for more of the same from a side that still find themselves in the relegation zone.

After a disappointingly barren transfer window last season, signings like van de Beek could be key to restoring Leicester as reliable Premier League performers.
