The Old Lady are believed to be looking to get rid of the squad's dead wood, with the Italian international on the list of players they deem to be sellable.
The Italian international played a pivotal part in his country's Euro 2020 campaign that saw them beat England on penalties to lift the trophy at Wembley last summer, and was targeted by Arsenal in the summer but chose to stay in Italy.
