Manchester United Will Have To Pay £67.5m To Secure The Services Of Ajax Forward Antony

Manchester United will have to stump up £67.5million to secure the services of Ajax forward Antony this summer.

The Brazilian has been continually linked with a move to Old Trafford as United boss Erik ten Hag is a fan of the player following their time together in Holland.

However, United will have to fork out a large sum of money for the forward - who has said he is more than happy to stay put and continue thriving with the Eredivisie giants.

Speaking to Dutch outlet NOS earlier this month, the Brazilian international admitted that he was 'fully focused' on Ajax.

Antony said as cited by Sports Central: 'Will Ten Hag call me? No idea. 'He has to discuss this with my agents, I'm focused on here. What will come will come, we'll see.'

He added: 'I feel good at Ajax. I give everything for this club, every minute. So I am loving this city and this club.'

United could also be in with a shot of securing the services of PSV forward Cody Gakpo after their Champions League tie with Rangers.

As it stands, Ruud van Nistelrooy's side are still in with a chance of qualifying for this season's Champions League group stages.

They drew 2-2 with Rangers on August 16 in their play off first leg and are set to face the Scottish side once again on August 24.

Therefore, PSV will refrain from making any deals with Gakpo's suitors until they secure their place in the Champions League.

Ten Hag is eager to get a deal across the line as Gakpo is a prolific goalscorer. He netted twice in seven international matches and scored 21 goals in 47 games last season.

Meanwhile, Christian Pulisic's loan deal hangs in the balance as Chelsea weigh-up what to do with the forward.

The Blues are considering letting Pulisic join Manchester United on loan if he agrees to extend his contract first.

Owner Todd Boehly would prefer to sell the USA captain rather than accept United’s request to take him on loan, but is considering that option should Pulisic agree to extend a deal that has two years to run.

Chelsea would protect their asset in the process and hope Pulisic does well at Old Trafford, where he will get more game time and increase his value.

Meanwhile, Manchester United are in a period of serious upheaval as the Glazer family revealed they are open to selling minority share in the club to private investor.

Sportsmail revealed on Wednesday the Glazer family are considering selling a minority stake in Manchester United football club and that they had held preliminary discussions about the possibility of bringing in a new investor.

As a result, English billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe came out and said he would be very interesting in buying United if current owners were to put the Premier League club up for sale.

The Glazer family have also entered into exclusive talks with US private equity firm Apollo about the possibility of selling a minority stake in United.

The family are not prepared to cede control of the club — Avram and Joel are expected to keep their shares and oversee the day-to-day running of Old Trafford — other family members are understood to want out.

Meanwhile, a spokesperson for Ratcliffe has said that the businessman views himself as a 'potential buyer' of the Red Devils and that he would like to take full control of the club in the future.

The 69-year-old recently tried to purchase Chelsea but saw his late bid turned down as current owner Todd Boehly and his consortium took ownership of the London club.

Ratcliffe tabled a last-minute £4.25billion offer to purchase the Stamford Bridge side in May but now aims to become United's owner after registering his interest.
