Manny Pacquiao may be set for a sensational return to ring after it was revealed he'd be up for a rematch of his Fight of the Century with Floyd Mayweather.
The PacMan brought an end to his legendary boxing career last year to focus on his new venture into politics. He never got the chance to avenge his unanimous decision defeat in May 2015 to Mayweather, who himself retired two years later.
But Money has continued to compete in exhibition bouts - and Pacquiao would be up for being his next opponent. Speaking about the potential of that fight, his manager Sean Gibbons told Planet Sport as cited by Sports Central: "Let's go. "[I] would love to see it, but Mayweather wants none of this smoke due to his ego. Senator Pacquiao would love an exhibition. If he was to return it would be this year. But that is a big if."
Mayweather hung up his gloves after extending his professional record to 50-0 with a TKO victory over UFC icon Conor McGregor in 2017. That put an end to hopes of a rematch with Pacquiao.
Since then the American has taken on Japanese kickboxer Tenshin Nasukawa, YouTube star Logan Paul and most recently undefeated boxer Don Moore in Dubai last month.
The lucrative outings, which have no judges and don't threaten his unbeaten record, have proved too hard to resist for Mayweather. He confirmed that he will return to the Middle East for another bout in October.
And his former Filipino foe now appears to want a slice of the pie. Their first clash went down as the biggest in boxing history, selling over 4.6million on PPV.
